MORRISSEY AND SIOUXSIE: "INTERLUDE"

PART 1: Why Pick Siouxsie?

In 1994, Morrissey recruited Ms. Siouxsie Sioux to be his partner on his only recorded duet before the death of Princess Diana.
In regard to Morrissey's foreshadowing of Diana's death why would Morrissey have been moved to partner with Siouxsie Sioux?

Reasons are easily found by simply looking at
the name of Siouxsie's band and at the subject of their biggest worldwide hit. ...

Since 1976, Siouxsie Sioux had been the lead singer in the British band "Siouxsie And The Banshees".

Siouxsie Sioux: leader of Siouxsie and The Banshees

Consider the definition of "Banshee": A female spirit whose wailing foretells a death.  A harbinger of someone's death.

Banshee:
A female spirit whose wailing foretells a death.
A harbinger of someone's death.

Siouxsie And The Banshees' biggest worldwide hit concerned the death of actress Jayne Mansfield (1933-1967).
That 1991 song, KISS THEM FOR ME, was named after the title of Jayne Mansfield's 1957 film, KISS THEM FOR ME.

KISS THEM FOR ME: Siouxsie and The Banshees' biggest worldwide hit concerned the death of Jayne Mansfield, costar of the 1957 film KISS THEM FOR ME

Siouxsie's lyrics:

KISS THEM FOR ME

It glittered and it gleamed
for the arriving beauty queen*
a ring and a car
now you're the prettiest by far

No party she'd not attend
no invitation she wouldn't send
transfixed by the inner sound
of your promise to be found

"Nothing or no-one will ever
make me let you down"

Kiss them for me - I may be delayed
Kiss them for me - if I am delayed

It's divoon, oh it's serene
in the fountain's pink champagne
someone carving their devotion
in the heart-shaped pool of fame

"Nothing or no-one will ever
make me let you down"

Kiss them for me - I may be delayed
Kiss them for me - I may find myself delayed

On the road to New Orleans
a spray of stars hit the screen
as the 10th impact shimmered
the forbidden candles beamed

Kiss them for me - I may be delayed
Kiss them for me - I may find myself delayed

- Siouxsie Sioux, 1991

* Before achieving Hollywood stardom, Jayne Mansfield was a perennial beauty queen whose titles included: Queen Cotton; Cherry Blossom Queen; Queen of Palm Springs Desert Rodeo; Nylon Queen; Queen of Refrigeration Week; Gas Station Queen; Queen of the Chihuahua Show; Princess of the Freeways; Miss Magnesium Lamp; Miss Fire Prevention Week; Miss Negligee; Miss Tomato; Miss Direct Mail; Miss Lobster; Miss Photoflash; Miss Third Platoon; Miss Orchid; Miss 100% Pure; Miss One for the Road; Miss Blue Bonnet Belle; Miss Electric Switch; Miss Standard Foods; Miss Fire Alarm; Miss Fourth of July; Miss Nylon Sweater; Miss Geiger Counter; etc.

Consider the precise parallels between Jayne Mansfield's death and Princess Diana's death:

Jayne Mansfield was killed in her mid-30's (34), in a nighttime car crash, in the summer of a calendar year ending with the number 7 (1967).
Princess Diana was killed in her mid-30's (36), in a nighttime car crash, in the summer of a calendar year ending with the number 7 (1997).

The only three people killed in Jayne Mansfield's crash were Jayne; her boyfriend; and their driver.
The only three people killed in Princess Diana's crash were Diana; her boyfriend; and their driver.

[Jayne's boyfriend - Sam Brody - was also her attorney.  Some websites negligently refer to him only as "Jayne's attorney" when describing Jayne's death.]

There had been no other celebrity car-crashes in the history of Europe/America in which
a woman of global fame; her boyfriend; and their driver; were the only three fatalities!

Jayne Mansfield and Princess Diana suffered the same tragic fate; each in their mid-30's

There is an inverted correlation between the locations of the car crashes that killed Jayne Mansfield and Princess Diana:

Jayne Mansfield was killed in America while heading directly toward the city of New Orleans, named after Orleans - a city in France.

New Orleans is the largest city in America to be named after a city in France.
Orleans is the largest city in France to have an American city named after it.

Princess Diana was killed in France while heading directly toward the Avenue de New York, named after New York - a city in America.

In the largest city in France, (Paris), Diana crashed in the underpass that exits
immediately onto the Avenue de New York - named for the largest city in America.

[Of the 50 largest cities in America, New Orleans is the only one named after one of the 50 largest cities in France.]

A strange connection between Jayne Mansfield and Princess Diana concerns the notion of being a "Queen of Hearts"...

Who was a truer "Queen of Hearts", Princess Diana or Jayne Mansfield?

Diana is the one who is called a  "Queen of Hearts", but Jayne is the one who lived like a "Queen of Hearts":

"I'll have to have a palace, of course.
I may not be a princess but I am a movie queen,
and every queen should have a palace."
- Jayne Mansfield

- "THE TRAGIC SECRET LIFE OF JAYNE MANSFIELD" by Ray Strait, (Jayne Mansfield's press secretary).  Published 1974.

Beauty-Queen Jayne Mansfield transformed her lavish mansion into Hollywood's legendary "Pink Palace", (famously named by Jayne herself),
and she furnished the "Palace" with all things heart-shaped: Hollywood's first heart-shaped pool; heart-shaped fireplace; heart-shaped couch;
heart-shaped bed; heart-shaped bathtub; etc. ...

Beauty-Queen Jayne Mansfield lived in "The Pink Palace" with heart-shaped everything!

"I love you Jaynee" spelled out with tiles on the bottom by Jayne's second husband, Mickey Hargitay.

And in the end, Jayne Mansfield was buried beneath a heart-shaped monument.

Predictably, there are plenty of heart-shapes in the music-video for "KISS THEM FOR ME",
the aforementioned song about Jayne Mansfield's death, by Siouxsie And The Banshees:

Aside from the heart-shapes, the video points unmistakably to India,
even though Jayne Mansfield's death is never associated with India!

Why would a music-video about Jayne Mansfield's death be pointing to India?
Might it have something to do with Diana, whose death would parallel Jayne's?

Part 1 of the answer:
Less than a year after the release of the "KISS THEM FOR ME" video, Princess Diana would go to India for the only time in her life;
visiting
Mother Teresa's Hospice for the Sick and Dying in Calcutta, and meeting all 50 of the patients who were close to death.

It was less than a year after the release of "KISS THEM FOR ME".

Part 2 of the answer:
Within days of Princess Diana's death, and on the very eve of Diana's burial, Mother Teresa of Calcutta would die in India.

"... the fact that both [Princess Diana and Mother Theresa] died during the same week
is a sign from some divine power that obviously wants to tell us something."

MORRISSEY & SIOUXSIE: "INTERLUDE"

PART 2: Why Pick "INTERLUDE"?

For his only duet before the death of Princess Diana, Morrissey chose an obscure old song titled "INTERLUDE" to perform with Siouxsie Sioux.
In regard to Morrissey's foreshadowing of Diana's death why would Morrissey be moved to choose that specific song for his duet with Siouxsie?

An explanation stems immediately from the song's title: INTERLUDE.

INTERLUDE: Morrissey & Siouxsie. 1994.

Princess Diana would die in Paris.  The title "INTERLUDE" therefore correlates to the 1934 film "PARIS INTERLUDE"...

PARIS INTERLUDE starring Madge Evans

The star of "PARIS INTERLUDE" was actress Madge Evans:

Madge Evans: star of the 1934 film PARIS INTERLUDE

Madge Evans was born on July 1.
Princess Diana was born on July 1.

Madge Evans: born July 1.................Princess Diana: born July 1

Madge Evans starred in the movie GRAND CANARY immediately before she starred in the movie PARIS INTERLUDE.
Immediately after she starred in the movie PARIS INTERLUDE, Madge Evans starred in the movie DEATH ON THE DIAMOND.
Looking at the titles of those three consecutive Madge Evans movies, a message is formed by taking the first word in each:

GRAND
CANARY,
(July 1934) starring Madge Evans

PARIS
INTERLUDE,
(July 1934) starring Madge Evans

DEATH ON THE DIAMOND,
(September 1934) starring Madge Evans

GRAND PARIS DEATH

The primary definition of "Grand": Impressive in size, extent, or splendor.  "Grand" accurately describes the global reaction to Diana's "Paris death".

Worldwide media gave Diana's death the grand treatment!

A grand event: Diana's funeral and funeral procession attracted a record 2.5 billion TV viewers making it the most-watched single event in human history!

In the final year of her acting career, Madge Evans (star of PARIS INTERLUDE) resurfaced for one lone performance.
Her acting career had spanned 5 decades (1914-1956) and this is where it ended:

The End of Madge Evans' Acting Career

The year was 1956.
The television show was "The Alcoa Hour".
"The Alcoa Hour" was a weekly program that was only broadcast on Sundays.
In 1956, the Sunday that came nearest to August 31, (future date of Diana's death), was Sunday, September 2.
In 1956, Madge Evans appeared in her only episode of "The Alcoa Hour" and it aired on Sunday, September 2.
In that episode, Madge Evans was Agnes "Spencer".
Princess Diana's maiden name was Diana "Spencer".

Madge Evans was born July 1.
Princess Diana was born July 1.

The title of the episode starring Madge Evans was
THE GIRL IN CHAPTER ONE.
On a music album, that would correspond to
THE GIRL IN SONG ONE.
Up to Diana's death only one album in Morrissey's career had ever featured a
"GIRL IN CHAPTER ONE":
Song One of "THE QUEEN IS DEAD" begins with a girl singing "TAKE ME BACK TO DEAR OLD BLIGHTY".
["BLIGHTY" is slang for England. ]
Diana - Queen of Hearts - would die in a foreign land and have to be "taken back to dear old Blighty" for burial.
Cicely Courtneidge is "THE GIRL IN CHAPTER ONE" of THE QUEEN IS DEAD singing "TAKE ME BACK TO DEAR OLD BLIGHTY"
Cicely Courtneidge died on April 26.
Madge Evans died on April 26.

THE GIRL IN CHAPTER ONE: Cicely Courtneidge is the girl in song one of THE QUEEN IS DEAD
(singing "TAKE ME BACK TO DEAR OLD BLIGHTY")

Madge Evans: the same birthday as Diana, the same death-day as Cicely Courtneidge
