6th song on the album THE QUEEN IS DEAD:

BIGMOUTH STRIKES AGAIN

(1st song on side 2 of the vinyl edition of the album):

BIGMOUTH STRIKES AGAIN

Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking
when I said I'd like to smash every tooth
in your head

Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking
when I said by rights you should be
bludgeoned in your bed

and now I know how Joan of Arc felt
now I know how Joan of Arc felt
as the flames rose to her roman nose
and her Walkman stared to melt

Bigmouth, bigmouth
bigmouth strikes again
and I’ve got no right to take my place
with the Human race

and now I know how Joan of Arc felt
now I know of Joan of Arc felt
as the flames rose to her roman nose
and her hearing aid started to melt

Bigmouth, bigmouth
bigmouth strikes again
and I’ve got no right to take my place
with the Human race

Here, in "BIGMOUTH STRIKES AGAIN", Morrissey openly points to "Joan of Arc":  "and now I know how Joan of Arc felt".
Actress Ingrid Bergman was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of "Joan of Arc" in the 1948 film "JOAN OF ARC".
Conspicuously, Ingrid Bergman's only
other 1948 film was titled "ARCH OF TRIUMPH" and in it she played another woman named "Joan".

Ingrid Bergman's only two films in 1948: She starred as "Joan" in "JOAN OF ARC" and as "Joan" in "ARCH OF TRIUMPH".

This song, "BIGMOUTH STRIKES AGAIN", which points to "Joan of Arc", was released as a single.
For the cover of "BIGMOUTH STRIKES AGAIN" Morrissey chose a photo of James Dean from 1948,
the year
Ingrid Bergman starred as "Joan" in "JOAN OF ARC" and "Joan" in "ARCH OF TRIUMPH".

Might Morrissey’s reference to "Joan of Arc" actually be leading to Ingrid Bergman's other 1948 starring role: "Joan" of "ARCH OF TRIUMPH"?
Consider the evidence:

Firstly, the pivotal crisis in "ARCH OF TRIUMPH" comes when "Joan" is given the devastating information that her refugee boyfriend is being deported,
at which point she is told:

“A refugee without passport has lost his membership in the human race”.

Compare that to the line repeated throughout Morrissey’s lyric:

“I’ve got no right to take my place with the human race.”

Joan is notified that her refugee boyfriend has been deported: "A refugee without passport has lost his membership in the human race."

Secondly, the climax in "ARCH OF TRIUMPH" comes when Joan’s refugee boyfriend finally succeeds in getting brutal revenge on his sworn Nazi enemy by repeatedly smashing
the Nazi's head with a large  wrench, until he has bludgeoned him to death.  Specifically, the Nazi is bludgeoned to death in the passenger seat where he had just awoken from
a deep sleep in the middle of the night.  The passenger seat had served as his bed.  Compare that to Morrissey’s lyric:

“I’d like to smash every tooth in your head”,

and,

“by rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed”.

The Nazi villain will be bludgeoned to death in the passenger seat where he had slept; the seat that served as his bed.

The wrench that will be used to smash the Nazi villain's head until he is finally bludgeoned to death.

Having now seen that two vital, unique, scenes in "ARCH OF TRIUMPH" are sharply echoed in Morrissey's lyric it would seem that his  reference to "Joan of Arc" is indeed leading
to the film "ARCH OF TRIUMPH" via Ingrid Bergman, star of "JOAN OF ARC".
This raises the question: How does the film "ARCH OF TRIUMPH" correlate to the death of Diana?

The overriding plot of the film concerns Joan's boyfriend and the man he was sworn to kill, a high-ranking Nazi official played by actor Charles Laughton.
Charles Laughton was born on July 1st.  Princess Diana was born on July 1st.

Charles Laughton was born July 1.          Princess Diana was born July 1.

On the calendar being used to count down the days before the killing of Charles Laughton’s character, the final date shown circled is August 30th.
Princess Diana was killed on the night of August 30th.

August 30th is the final date circled on the calendar used to count down the days until the villain played by Charles Laughton is killed.
August 30th is the night that Princess Diana will be killed.  Princess Diana was born on July 1.  Charles Laughton was born on July 1.

Charles Laughton’s character is driven through the streets of Paris, at night, in the minutes leading up to his death.
Princess Diana was driven through the streets of Paris, at night, in the minutes leading up to her death.

The Nazi villain played by Charles Laughton (man on the right), is driven through the streets of Paris (below), at night, in the minutes leading up to death.
Princess Diana was born on Charles Laughton's birthday and she was driven through the streets of Paris, at night, in the minutes leading up to her death.
